eRulemaking

The eRulemaking Initiative provides a one-stop shop for the Federal rulemaking process, allowing Agencies to work together and providing the public greater access to comment on rules. As part of the eRulemaking Initiative, Federal Agencies are preparing to consolidate into a single Federal Docket Management System (FDMS), which will replace more than 20 separate Federal IT systems and integrate 135 Federal Agencies that currently utilize paper-based docket processes. The E-Government Act of 2002 authorizes the E-Government Initiatives and requires Federal Agencies to support the eRulemaking Initiative. All Departments and Agencies are expected to make their regulatory dockets electronically accessible and searchable via the eRulemaking Initiative. Innovate provides operational support to the current FDMS application and its required components with complete focus on furthering the vision and goals of the eRulemaking Program.
