Innovate led and conducted the Electronic Risk and Requirements Assessments (E-RA) for various State and Federal applications as per the FISMA guidelines. We used information provided in the NIST 800-series and FIPS PUBS. We also utilized the e-RA tool developed by the E-Authentication Initiative teamed with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University to conduct the risk assessments. This approach identifies the risks associated with insufficient authentication of users, and it forms the basis for the definition of authentication requirements.
