Innovate awarded National Spatial Data Infrastructure Cooperative Agreements Program (NSDI CAP)

ALEXANDRIA, VA (April 23, 2012) In March, 2012, Innovate was awarded a grant from the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Cooperative Agreements Program (NSDI CAP) for approximately $30,000. The NSDI CAP, which is administered by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), supports projects that assist the geospatial community in implementing the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. In this project Innovate will develop a recommended migration route from the FGDC CSDGM metadata standard to the latest ISO metadata standard for the US EPA and State of Idaho metadata clearinghouses. By leveraging the history, background and experience of each of these agencies, this project will create a model for metadata transition that other groups across the US can follow. Innovate Celebrates 10 Great Years

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 4, 2012) — On Wednesday February 22nd, Innovate celebrated its 10 year anniversary in downtown DC. The event was designed to thank Innovate’s friends, clients, and teaming partners for all of their support and assistance throughout the years.

Innovate’s official 10 year anniversary took place Thursday March 1, 2012. Lily Thomas, President, had the following to say about the 10 year milestone:

Innovate plans to celebrate its 10th Anniversary in DC

ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 15, 2012) Innovate! Inc. plans to celebrate its 10th Anniversary in Washington, DC on February 22nd, 2012. While the official anniversary date is March 1st, 2012, Innovate has decided to move up its celebration to coincide with ESRI’s National Conference being held in DC February 22-24. The event will be taking place at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Washington, DC from 5:30-7:30pm EST. This event not only celebrates the achievements Innovate has made in the past 10 years, but is also intended to honor and thank all of our teaming partners and others who helped to make the accomplishment possible.

As we welcome 2012, we wanted to take a moment and briefly look back at another exciting year for us. 2011, our 10th year in business, has brought us several great accomplishments. Grew two of of our larger contracts including our work with NOAA Fisheries and FEMA’s RiskMap
Won three all new contracts
Procured our first Sole Source 8(a) contract.
Welcomed an incredible 50% increase in employees
In addition to our work in the business world, Innovate was pleased to have its 501(c)3 non-profit, The Global Cooling Network, join the Combined Federal Campaign.

In 2012, we look forward to celebrating our 10 year anniversary in March and the continued growth of both Innovate! and the Global Cooling Network!

Innovate! Inc and Global Cooling Network to hold Silent Auction

ALEXANDRIA, VA (September 6, 2011) – The Global Cooling Network (GCN), a non-profit organization established by Innovate! Inc, will be holding a silent auction fundraising event on October 26, 2011 in Alexandria, VA. GCN aims to counteract the effects of global warming and preserve forested land for people and animals to enjoy. 100% of the funds raised from this event will be used to support GCN’s efforts to advance the quality of the environment. We’re in the process of collecting merchandise for the event, and currently looking for interested companies that are willing to donate in order to make this GCN event a success. By donating an item, companies will be making a tax deductible contribution that will help GCN continue to help the planet by preserving forested land in it’s natural undeveloped state. Additionally, companies will benefit from exposure of their company’s name to those who attend the event. Donors will be listed on the event program, and the merchandise they give will be on display throughout the event. All donors will be invited to attend the event. Innovate!, Inc. Awarded $4M IT Services Contract by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

ALEXANDRIA, VA (September 1, 2010) – The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced on August 31, 2010 that it was awarding Innovate!, Inc. (Innovate) a five year, $4M Information Technology (IT) Services contract to support the Northeast Regional Office (NERO) of the NOAA Fisheries Service (NMFS). Innovate is an 8(a) certified, “green” business that provides premier government consulting services. Innovate will be providing the continuing design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation of a state-of-the-art data management system, called the Northeast Fisheries Information Management System (NE-FIMS); and the support, maintenance, and enhancement of the hardware and software infrastructure of NE-FIMS and other NERO IT systems. NERO, located in Gloucester, Massachusetts, has primary responsibility for managing the living marine resources of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) from the U.S./Canadian maritime boundary to waters off North Carolina. “Innovate!, Inc. is looking forward to the opportunity to work with NOAA and to provide its deep software engineering and GIS expertise to help them realize a more efficient and higher quality program for collecting and processing data related to fisheries” said Lily Thomas, founder and president of Innovate.

SBA Awards Innovate 8(a) Status through June 2019
